By accessing our website or purchasing any or our tours or travel services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and fully accepted these Terms and Conditions.

At Discover Romania Tours, we craft personalised journeys that take you beyond the guidebook. Wander through the cobblestone streets of Bucharest, Brasov or Sibiu, uncover the mysteries of medieval castles and fortified churches, lose yourself in the rolling hills of Transylvania and the untouched beauty of the Carpathian mountains, or savour the rich flavours of Romanian wine and traditional cuisine in the heart of the countryside.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any service without prior notice, except for bookings already confirmed and paid.

  1. Bookings and Payments

3.1. Booking Process

A travel package booking is only confirmed upon written confirmation from Discover Romania Tours and receipt of the advance deposit or full payment, as applicable. The client is responsible for providing accurate and complete information (personal details, travel documents) at the time of booking.

3.2. Prices and Payment

All displayed prices are in EUR and include all taxes. Discover Romania Tours reserves the right to modify prices prior to booking confirmation. Accepted payment methods include: bank transfer, credit/debit card (online) and cash.

  1. Cancellation and Refund Policy

4.1. Cancellation by the Client

The client may cancel a confirmed booking at any time. Cancellation penalties apply as follows:

  • Cancellation more than 30 days before departure: full refund of the deposit, minus a 5% processing fee
  • Cancellation between 15 and 30 days before departure: 25% of the total package value retained
  • Cancellation between 7 and 14 days before departure: 50% of the total package value retained
  • Cancellation less than 7 days before departure: 100% of the total package value retained

Cancellations must be made in writing, by email, and take effect from the date Discover Romania Tours confirms receipt of the cancellation request. We reply to all correspondence within 24 hrs.

4.2. Cancellation by Discover Romania Tours

Discover Romania Tours may cancel a travel package in cases of force majeure (natural disasters, armed conflict, epidemics, government restrictions) or if the minimum number of participants is not reached. In such cases, the client will be notified at least 10 days before departure and will be entitled to a full refund or an alternative package.

4.3. Refunds

Refunds are processed within 14 working days from the date of confirmed cancellation, via the same payment method originally used, except where cancellation penalties apply.

  1. Client Obligations

The client agrees to:

  • Hold all valid travel documents (passport, visa, health insurance) required for the traveling in Romania and in the visited countries.
  • Comply with the regulations and laws of Romania and the visited countries.
  • Inform Discover Romania Tours of any medical condition or special requirement prior to booking.
  • Arrive at the designated departure point at the scheduled time
  • Respect the rights of other participants and staff involved

Discover Romania Tours is not liable for any consequences arising from the client’s failure to meet these obligations, including forfeiture of the package without right to a refund.

  1. Limitation of Liability

Discover Romania Tours acts as an intermediary and organiser of travel packages. The company cannot be held liable for:

  • Personal accidents, illness, or incidents occurring during the trip.
  • Loss or damage to luggage.
  • Delays or cancellations caused by airlines, transport companies, or accommodation providers.
  • Force majeure events affecting the travel programme.

The total liability of Discover Romania Tours towards the client shall not exceed the value of the purchased travel package.

  1. Privacy and Personal Data Protection (GDPR)

7.1. Data Collected

In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Discover Romania Tours collects and processes the following personal data:

  • Identification data: full name
  • Contact details: email address, phone number
  • Browsing data: cookies and technical information collected via the website

7.2. Purpose of Processing

Personal data is used exclusively for:

  • Processing and managing bookings made
  • Communicating relevant information about purchased packages
  • Fulfilling legal and fiscal obligations
  • Improving services and marketing communications (with your consent)

7.3. Legal Basis

Data processing is carried out on the basis of: contract performance (booking), legal obligation, the company’s legitimate interest, and, where applicable, the client’s explicit consent.

7.4. Data Storage and Security

Personal data is retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose of collection and at least for the period required by Romanian fiscal and accounting legislation (5–10 years). Discover Romania Tours applies appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data against unauthorised access, loss, or destruction.

7.5. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • The right of access to your personal data
  • The right to rectification of inaccurate data
  • The right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”)
  • The right to restriction of processing
  • The right to data portability
  • The right to object to processing for marketing purposes
  • The right to lodge a complaint with the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP, Romania)

7.6. Cookies

All content on the Discover Romania Tours website (text, photographs, logo, graphics, descriptions) is the exclusive property of Discover Romania Tours or is used with the authorisation of the rights holders. Reproduction, distribution, or commercial use of any content without prior written consent is strictly prohibited.

  1. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Romanian law. Any dispute arising in connection with the services of Discover Romania Tours shall first be addressed through amicable resolution. Should no agreement be reached, disputes will be submitted to the competent courts in Romania.

  1. Amendments

Discover Romania Tours reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The updated version will be published on the website with the date of the latest revision. Continued use of our services following publication of any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
